MCC is a Christian Church that is made of people from a wide variety of backgrounds and traditions, and which, for fellowship, support and accountability, is linked into the wider Presbyterian Church in Ireland. At the centre of our understanding of life is our shared belief with Christians all around the world and all through history that:
The highest purpose and chief end of our lives is to know the God who made us and to glorify and enjoy Him forever.
This is why worship lies right at the heart of what we do in MCC. It doesn’t just mean singing praise songs in our services, although that is an important component. It is everything we do, on Sundays and through the rest of the week. The greatest gift we can receive is to know that the God of the universe is with us every moment in our lives; that we are never alone; that we are never unloved; that we need never feel afraid. Only by discovering what it is to worship can we know this gift and for this reason part of our desire as a church is to be a worshipful community.
You are welcome to join us, to participate with us, to chart our next steps with us. Worship is not an exclusive activity meant only for the experts. Whether it is joining us in the congregation and singing along in our Sunday service or playing a more up-front role with Scripture readings or playing an instrument in our band, whatever you feel like trying, we are happy to welcome you in.
A life well lived needs to be a life filled with opportunities to worship the God who loves us, in the good times and in the bad, when we are sure and certain and when we are doubting and questioning. In song, in dance, in drama, in the Word, in prayer, in silence, on Sundays and every other day of the week, at MCC we love to worship.
