Exploring Christianity
Exploring Christianity is a 6-week course we have written and run fairly regularly in MCC that introduces people to some of the core ideas of Christianity in a context where questions are welcomed. Most typically, MCC members invite interested friends along.
We start with dinner, dessert and coffee and then have an open and free conversation about topics such as “Why is there so much evil in the world?”, “Who is Jesus?” and “Why believe the Bible?”
When we have run it in the past it has received a great response. The most common feedback we get is that it is very interesting and very enjoyable. People come back to do the course a second time. We attribute much of its success to the fact that it doesn't seek to patronise people with simple answers. The doubts and struggles that we have over Christianity are real, they are legitimate and they deserve serious consideration. Exploring Christianity is a place for that to happen.
It’s a completely relaxed and enjoyable conversation where all opinions are heard and valued. It’s totally free. It’s not a hard sell, or a religious experience; it’s just a space to talk about some of the most meaningful questions of life.
