Crossing The Divide Sermon Series

Through April and May, the teaching team looked at the primary place reconciliation has in the Christian life and how the Gospel gives us the ability to genuinely be peacemakers; in our homes, our work and the wider world.

Crossing The Divide Sermon Series

  1. On April 13th 2008, Keith preached the opening sermon the series. Working from 2 Corinthians 5 he looked at how God acted to reconcile the world to Himself. The sermon, “Introduction: The Journey To Reconciliation” can be downloaded here. The powerpoint for the sermon can also be downloaded here.

  2. On April 20th, Keith continued the sermon series on conflict, Crossing the Divide, with the latest sermon entitled ‘Finding Our True North’. It can be downloaded here.

  3. The third sermon in the series was delivered on April 27th 2008, by Kevin Hargaden. Preaching from Galatians 2, Kevin looked at how we are to approach conflict in culture. The sermon can be downloaded here.

  5. On Sunday, May 18th, Rev. McCrory finished the sermon series on conflict with a seminar on what it means to be reconcilers. He preached from 2 Corinthians 5. The powerpoint for the sermon can be downloaded here The sermon itself can be downloaded here.

Easter 2008 Sermon Series


  1. Keith started our Easter series on March 9th The message can now be freely downloaded here.

  2. Our second Easter sermon was delivered by Kevin Hargaden. He preached on the Luke’s account of Jesus entering into Jerusalem. (It was Palm Sunday after all.) The sermon can now be freely downloaded.

    We used a powerpoint about the idea of a “Stepford God” during the service and it is available here.

  3. On Easter Sunday the sermon was delivered by Keith. He talked about the surprising hope of Easter. The sermon can now be freely downloaded.

  4. One of our elders, Tom Gilliam preached for the first time in MCC on Sunday March 30th. He was continuing our Easter sermon series and he looked at “the Burning Heart society”. The sermon can now be freely downloaded.

  5. On April 6th, Keith finished our Secrets of Easter series by explaining what happens when we die. The sermon can now be freely downloaded.

Esther Sermon Series


  1. Kevin started our sermon series on Esther by looking at the opening two chapters.

  2. Keith continued our sermon series on Esther by looking at our shadow selves.

  3. Dr. Patrick Mitchel continued our sermon series on Esther by looking at the villain of the piece, Haman.

  4. On March 2nd, Keith finished our sermon series on Esther.

Ingredients For Chapter Two


  1. On January 6th 2008 Keith McCrory preached from Numbers 13 and started a series on vision called Ingredients For Chapter 2.

  2. On January 13th, Keith continued his Ingredients For Chapter 2 series with a sermon looking at what true fellowship really is.

  3. On January 20th Keith continued the series on Ingredients For Chapter 2 with the first part of his examination of authentic spirituality, looking at Jesus and the woman at the well in John 4.

  4. On January 27th Keith finished his examination of authentic spirituality, looking at Jesus and the woman at the well in John 4.

  5. Keith McCrory finished our five part series on the Ingredients for Chapter 2 with a sermon on February 3rd on authentic mission.

Lenten Reflections 2008


  1. The first week of Lenten Reflections included thoughts from Robert Armstrong and his sons Alan and Tom.

  2. The second week of Lenten Reflections included thoughts from Rosemary Bashford and a kids section contributed by Ciara Mitchel.

  3. The third week of Lenten Reflections was put together by Sheena McCrory and her son Conor.

  4. The fourth week of Lenten Reflections was contributed by the Miller family.

  5. The fifth week of Lenten Reflections Laurene Barry collaborate with Benj and James Gilliam to cater to the adults and the kids at MCC.

  6. The final week of Lenten Reflections included thoughts on the Resurrection from John Hutchison and a kids corner put together by Kyle Hussey, with a special Easter theme.
